<p>A lens (10), having an optical power surface, which may have multiple radii portions or aspherical portions (16) as well as spherical portions (14, 18), is molded in a coined mold (96). A pair of core pins (120), positioned within the mold cavity (92, 100) during the lens forming process, will produce a pair of haptic-mounting holes (130, 132) within the lens (10). As the lenses (10) are subsequently tumbled to remove flash (134), indentations (142) allow for tangential attachment of the haptic (22, 24) to the lens (10) which, in turn, enables maximum flexibility without exceeding the width of the lens optic (128).</p> |
