The invention relates to a shiftable partition wall comprising partition-wall elements for subdividing rooms. It comprises at least two approximately mutually parallel sectional walls having horizontally running lamellae which are guided in vertically aligned rails, are located one upon the other in the closed position and can be transferred, by means of conveying chains, into magazines arranged in the region of the ceiling of the room. The partition wall further comprises sound-insulating bodies which are arranged on the mutually facing sides of the sectional walls.
