Cover panels for a radio are proposed which exhibit concealed switching means and displays arranged on the rear. As switching means, infrared reflection light barriers are used, for example, which generate a switching pulse when approached. When an illumination is switched off, it cannot be seen whether there is a car radio located behind the cover plate or not.
