<p>A system for comparing and collating a personal identification number stored in a magnetic card (11) with a personal identification number input by a person who possesses the magnetic card. Data for enabling comparison and collation are stored in a card-like medium (13) so that mutual confirmation is carried out between the card-like medium (13) and a teller machine (17). When it is judged as a result of mutual confirmation that both of the card-like medium (13) and the teller machine are proper, said data are sent from the card-like medium (13) to the teller machine (17). This makes it possible to compare and collate the personal identification number stored in the magnetic card (11) and the personal identification number input by the person who possesses the magnetic card, contributing to enhancing safety in the transactions.</p> |
