A drive system for a skid steer vehicle includes a transmission case (1) comprising left and right cases (3)(4) surrounded by side panels. A gear reduction assembly (8) is provided on inside walls (31)(41) of the cases. Rear and front axles (6)(7) are secured to outside walls (32)(42) of the cases. A hydrostatic motor (10) the output shaft of which is coupled to a pinion (12) and the gear reduction assembly is mounted on one side of a gear case (9). A shaft (13) with sprockets (131)(132), the one end of which is coupled to a reduction gear (14), is associated to other side of the gear case. The reduction gear is coupled to the pinion and a brake drum (15) for controlling the rotation of the drive system.
