PURPOSE:To carry out marking even with respect to material to be marked which is impossible to be marked hitherto by irradiating the material to be marked with laser beam to be outputted by exciting N gas. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam oscillator 4 excites a laser beam medium by a known electric discharge excitation means in the electric discharge region sealed at a prescribed gas mixing ratio and outputs the laser beam. The laser beam is then converged by a convex lens 3 and while irradiating the material 1 to be marked with the laser beam via a stencil 2, the material 1 to be marked is scanned by a moving means to carry out marking. As a result, even the material to be marked which is impossible to be marked hitherto can be marked corresponding to diversification of the material to be marked. Further, the need to use poisonous gas is eliminated and handling is safe. |
