PREPARATION OF BOUND POLYESTER FIBER BALL

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber ball usable for a product excellent in elasticity and durability by individually heat-bonding fiber balls obtained by intimately and randomly blending binder fibers with spirally crimped polyester fiberfill. CONSTITUTION: Spirally crimped polyester fiberfill having about 10 to about 100 mm cut length is intimately blended with binder fibers (the proportion of the blended binder fiber is about 5 to about 50 wt.%), and the blended fibers is arranged randomly to provide fiber balls having about 2 to about 15 mm average sizes. Each obtained fiber ball is individually heat-bonded and cooled to provide the objective fiber ball.
