An improved process for field coating pipe wherein a particulate olefin polymer resin coating composition is employed to provide field coatings having improved combinations of properties with a labor and time saving process. The olefin polymer resin coating composition comprises an adhesive olefin copolymer having succinic acid or anhydride groups along the polymer molecule backbone. The coatings possess excellent combinations of chemical and moisture resistance, physical and adhesive strength even at elevated temperatures and resistance to cathodic disbonding.
