Apparatus for transporting/mounting a building material comprises: a self-propelled vehicle body 1 provided with a steering/driving means 4, said vehicle body being constructed of an upright main body 2 and a pair of lower frames 3 which are parallelly spaced apart from each other and horizontally extend from opposite sides of a lower portion of said main body; an elevator unit 16 mounted so as to be vertically movable along said vertical side portion 2 of said main body; a first frame 23 horizontally extending forward from said elevator unit, and being said first frame means having mounted thereon for movement in a horizontal plane; a second frame means 31 slidably mounted in said first frame means 23 so as to be longitudinally extended therefrom and retracted therein and a means 45 for supporting a building material sheet, so mounted on a front end of said second frame means as to be vertically swingable, about pin 33 by cylinder 34, and as to be rotatable on an axis perpendicular to a plane of said building material sheet on said supporting means.
