PURPOSE: To properly break chips and make a working surface excellent by inclining a chip exhaust surface between a cutter edge and a chip guiding step part at a desired angle in the longitudinal direction and changing the height of this chip guiding step part. CONSTITUTION: A chip exhaust surface 9 between a cutter edge and a chip guiding step part 5 is cut from a projection part 3 in a grinding process. At this time, a grinding wheel is moved along surface inclined at an angleβlinearly and in the longitudinal direction of the chip exhaust surface 9, the narrowest area of the chip exhaust surface 9 is made a top place, the area is located above the adjacent chip exhaust surface 9 and a desired cutter plate 1 is obtained. As a result, long chips are properly broken, the pile is surely prevented and the damage of a working surface due to chips is avoided. |
