摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to read with higher precision by constructing an encoder so that operations of two or more code trains can be performed by one code train. CONSTITUTION:An encoder has a disk-shaped detecting plate 1 being rotatable around its own axis, a first reading means U for reading ON-OFF codes out of a first code train I provided on the central side of the detecting plate 1, and second and third reading means V and W for reading out of a second code train II. Lines Lv and Lw connected to the second and third reading means V and W are led to output terminals T2 and T3 showing second and third digits, through an exchange means X operating in accordance with a code read out of the first-train reading means U, while the read code from the first reading means U is led as it is to a first-digit output terminal T1 by a line Lu. The first code train I is divided into an ON part (hatched part) and an oFF part (non-hatched part) each of which has a region of 180 deg., while the second code train II is divided into regions R2 and R3 representing the second and third digits respectively corresponding to the divisions of the first train.
