PURPOSE:To selectively obtain trans-4-aminomethyl cyclohexanecarboxylic acid-4'-(2''-carboxyethyl)phenyl ester and its salt, using a specific yeast, from a precursor of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid derivative or its salt under mild conditions. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the formula, e.g., trans-4-aminomethyl cyclohexanecarboxylic acid-4'-(2''-methyloxycarbonylethyl)phenyl ester hydrochloride is made to react in water or an appropriate buffer at pH ca.4-7 and 20-40 deg.C in the presence of the following fungi, that is: fungi of yeast belonging to Candida, Saccharomyces, Hansenula, sp. etc., cultured products therefrom or extracted products therefrom. By the above reaction, the objective trans-4- aminomethylcyclohexanecarboxylic acid-4'-(2''-carboxyethyl)phenyl ester and its salt can be obtained in high purity and in high yield. This compound gives excellent efficacy as a therapeutic agent for gastritis or gastric ulcer. |
