<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time required to start up a methanol reformer by always preheating the methanol preheater with exhaust gas generated by combustion. CONSTITUTION:A methanol evaporator 3 and a methanol reformer 4 are preheated with exhaust gas generated by combustion from the engine 6 of an automobile. The engine 6 is then stopped, a kerosene burner 5 is started and methanol is vaporized with exhaust gas generated by combustion from the burner 5. The vaporized methanol is introduced into the reformer 4, and reformed into H2 and CO or CO2.</p> |
