<p>A method for the synthesis of iodobenzene by iodination, in the gaseous phase, of benzene with iodine, in the presence of a zeolitic catalyst, selected from the group comprising the zeolites of X type or of Y type, characterized in that said iodination is an oxidative one and that said zeolites are in a form different from the acid (H) form. This method allows for a more convenient synthesis of iodobenzene in that it avoids the use of expensive oxidative agents and reactants which are not readily available.</p> |
