METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CHARGING FUEL ROD

PURPOSE: To reduce the chance for a worker's mistake by loading a supply fuel rod with a known concentration on a conveyer and preparing a magazine for demarcating a row of long and narrow slots that are released at a front edge part for receiving the fuel rod. CONSTITUTION: A first operation in a fuel rod pattern loading system for storing or loading a fuel rod R in a storage or supply circular conveyer 12 in a block (step) A. The circular conveyer 12 consists of a storage groove type container that stores a large number of fuel rods R or a plurality of gondolas for supporting a tray 24. Several of the fuel rods R has the same concentration and the other fuel rods have a different concentration. Any arbitrary tray 24 should house a fuel rod R with the same concentration. In this manner, the fuel rod may be selected among the fuel rods of different trays and needs not be selected among the fuel rods within the single tray itself.
