PURPOSE:To lower the discharge start voltage of a gas laser tube without making a conductor which serves as a trigger wire obstruct the mounting of a gas laser tube or without making it need to be insulated by burying the conductor in an outer enclosure of the gas laser tube. CONSTITUTION:A part of a conductor (trigger wire) 2 buried in an outer enclosure 1 is exposed outside the outer enclosure 1. This conductor 2 is connected to an anode 3 via resistor 9, and further connected to a power source via a resistor 10. When a high voltage is applied from the power source at the time of starting the discharge of the gas laser tube, the conductor reaches a high voltage, causing an AC-like discharge between itself and a cathode 5. Ions generated by this discharge serve as a seed fire and starts a DC discharge between the anode 3 and the cathode 5. For this reason, if left in blackness for a long time, it can be activated easily. Also, since the conductor 2 is buried in the outer enclosure, it is safe and does not become a hindrance to the installation of a gas laser tube. |
