PURPOSE:To generate a high voltage between an anode and a cathode so as to perform a discharge whose rise up is fast by conducting a thyratron and reversely charging a capacitor C1 after capacitors C1, C2 are resonance-charged in parallel through a resonance coil and a clipper diode. CONSTITUTION:Capacitors C1, C2 are resonance-charged from a charging power source 14 through a clipper diode 11, and resonance coils L1, L2, and L3. After charging is completed, when a trigger signal is added to a thyratron 10 (a switching device), the thyratron 10 becomes conducted and the capacitor C1 is discharged, further being reversely charged. As a result, a high voltage is generated between two cylindrical electrodes 2, 3 opposedly placed in the discharge tube 1. Hence, main discharge with capacitors C1, C2, and the discharge tube as a closed circuit starts. Since no thyratron exists in this main discharge tube, discharge whose rise up is fast can be obtained. |
