System for control of the catenary of the wire of an electro-erosion machine, characterised in that the catenary is formed between wire pay-out means governed by a motor and a braking pulley, and in that means are available for supplying an electrical signal, the value of which is related to the length of the wire between a first fixed point upstream of the catenary and a second fixed point downstream of the catenary, the said signal being supplied as a comparison signal to a comparator which receives a reference signal relating to a pre- established length of the catenary, the output signal from the comparator being sent to means which govern the motor of the wire pay-out means. It is used in the field of electro-erosion machines. <IMAGE>
