PURPOSE:To control generation of hydrogen gas and improve discharge performance by adding a specific quantity of 2-alkyl-N-sodium carboxy polyethylene-N- hydroxy ethylimdazolinium betaine hydroxide to the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Zinc alloy powder and alkaline electrolyte are provided, and negative electrode material to which 2-alkyl-N-sodium carboxy polymethylene-N- hydroxy ethyl imidazolnium betaine hydroxide is added is provided at 0.001-1.0 parts by weight referring to 100 parts by weight of zinc alloy powder is provided. Zinc alloy powder is put in such a solvent as toluene or the like to which 2-alkyl-N-sodium carboxy polymethylene-N-hydroxy ethyl imidazolnium betaine hydroxide is added, and they are mixed, and then, the solvent is made to dried and volatilized to form a coating layer of 2-alkyl-N-sodium carboxy polymethylene-N-hydroxy ethyl imidazolinium betaine hydroxide on the surface of zinc alloy powder, and use the layer for negative electrode active material; thereby, it is possible to control generation of hydrogen and improve discharge performance. |
