PURPOSE:To smooth the rugged part of roughly expanded binary picture data to perform the smooth expansion processing by extracting the ruggedness of a picture by a picture extracting circuit and smoothing it by a picture smoothing circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a line memory 3 has the capacity corresponding to three lines, the extraction area of the picture is the range of 3X3, and an extracted pattern shown in the figure is stored in a storage device 7 of a picture extracting circuit 4. Expanded picture data obtained from a dual port memory 1 is successively stored in the memory, and this data is successively read out to the circuit 4 and a picture smoothing circuit 5 after three-line components of data are stored in the memory 3. When picture data coincides with the pattern shown in the figure, a comparator 6 outputs a coincidence signal to the circuit 5. The circuit 5 closes a gate to stop picture elements marked with black circles in the figure. All expanded picture data from the memory 1 are subjected to this processing to obtain a smooth picture which has the ruggedness eliminated. |
