PURPOSE:To continuously, advantageously produce esp. physiologically active substances by introducing a culture solution of animal cells, through a culture medium circulating tank, into an adsorption column with selective adsorptivity for the target substances and by circulating only the culture solution, through said tank, to a culture tank. CONSTITUTION:When useful substances are to be produced by culture of animal cells, first using a culture medium for cell growth, generally a serum-contg. medium the cells are grown in a culture tank 1 to a density of 10<5>-10<7> per ml of culture solution. Thence, the culture tank 1 and the whole system are cleaned using e.g., a serum-free medium. Valves are then put to changeover and an adsorption column 2 and a line 6 are connected, and the culture medium is defined as production medium, and the culture solution is circulated between the column 2 and the culture tank 1 through a medium-circulating tank 3. Thereby, production of useful substances, using the cells, can be made continuously and advantageously. |
