发明名称 PASSIVE LIGHT WAVEGUIDE DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain a passive optical waveguide device of a low cost by substantially matching the total core sectional area of a receiving fiber collection, the total core sectional area of a transmitting fiber collection and the min. core sectional area of a mixed layer. CONSTITUTION: A structure 31 which is manufactured by a forming technique particularly high in cost efficiency and functions as the cladding of the optical mixed layer is used for the device existing within the conditions for matching the adequate core area and matching the numerical aperture. Further, the divided structures 33, 35 enable the insertion of the fiber collections 36, 37 into the connected cladding layer without the generation of the particles by grinding with the cladding layer. These structures are closed around the fiber collections, are packed with a silicone RTV resin via a part 39 and are fixed by a thermal or UV technique. The total sectional area of the cores of the fibers within the respective collections and the sectional area of the optical mixed core regions are so selected as to be substantially matched. As a result, the optical waveguide device of the low cost is obtd.
