The induction motor controller has a circuit coupled with the motor to provide a motor speed signal. In response to the motor speed signal, a desired inverter frequency signal is provided in relation to the motor speed signal. A desired inverter voltage is predetermined in response to the motor speed signal. A predetermined percent of the desired inverter voltage is determined for providing an initialising recovery voltage to the motor. A predetermined incremental ramp increase is provided from the initialising recovery motor voltage provided for the motor to increase the value to the desired motor voltage.
