The matrix address display comprises a pixel part having display elements disposed in matrix type. Scanning lines are connected to the pixel part. Scanning electrodes are connected to the scanning lines. Signal lines are connected to the pixel part with signal electrodes connected to the signal lines. A conductive layer is insulated from the scannng lines, disposed surrounding the pixel part. Conductive parts which are connected to the scanning lines on the signal line for selectively connecting the conductive layer disposed near the scanning electrodes and the signal electrodes.
