Grains in a reservoir tank (1) are fed into a hot-air drying chamber (4) through which hot air flows from a burner (6), and discharged grains from the drying chamber are returned again to the tank. The temp. (A) of hot air supplied into the drying chamber by the burner and teh temp. (B) of discharged air from the drying chamber are sensed to obtain the temp. (Ts) of grains. An experimental eqn. for calculating the temp. of grains are provided as follows: Ts= K2.[K1.A+(1-K1).B +(1+K2).C where K1 and K2 are experimental constants, pref. K1= 0.15 and K2= 0.9, and C is the atmospheric temp.
