PURPOSE: To obtain an automatic adhesive matrix comprising EVA, a higher aliphatic monoalcohol, a cellulose derivative and an ester of hydric alcohol and not causing lowering of adhesion to skin. CONSTITUTION: This matrix comprises (A) 30-50 pts.wt. EVA, preferably having 35-55wt.% vinyl acetate content, (B) 20-45 pts.wt. 12-20C higher aliphatic monoalcohol, e.g. 2-octyldodecane-1-ol or stearyl alcohol, (C) 5-20 pts.wt. cellulose derivative, e.g. an alkyl or hydroxyalkylcellulose, (D) 1-20 pts.wt. ester compound of a fatty acid-containing polyhydric alcohol and (E) 0.1-20 pts.wt. percutaneously administable active ingredient, e.g. inflammation-suppressing agent (e.g. ibuprofen), calcium antagonist (e.g. nifedipine) orβ-blocking agent (e.g. timolol).
