<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to achieve a desired gas dissolution with a low energy requirement by using the pressure head of a liquid and combining the flow velocity of the liquid, the diameter and length of a gas-liquid contact device, the retension time in the contact device of a liquid stream contg. dispersed gas and gas dispersion conditions. CONSTITUTION: The initial dispersion of the air bubbles in the liquid is formed by injecting the gas into the stream of the liquid. The liquid stream contg. the dispersed air bubbles of a relatively low initial pressure is passed from a high level at which the uniform dispersion of the fine air bubbles is maintained and the gas injection of the formed liquid flow is executed usually in the flow passage in a downward direction. The pressure acting on the liquid stream during this downward passage increases as the static head increases and this increase of the pressure of the liquid steams leads to an increase of the dissolution rate and dissolution speed of the gas in the liquid.</p> |
