PURPOSE:To enhance contrast of a photosensitive material for making a printing plate and to reduce deterioration of contrast and sensitivity in the case of continuing development processing by forming a backing layer containing an oxyborane compound. CONSTITUTION:The backing layer of the photosensitive material provided with a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a tetrazolium compound, such as a compound of formula I, or a hydrazine compound contains one of the oxyborane compounds of formula II in which each of R1-R3 is optionally substituted alkyl, aryl or the like, such as a compound of formula III, and the compound of formula II can be added to the undercoat or the protective layer of the backing layer. |
