Class 46 In a cellular filter formed of a plurality of discs superimposed in angular relationship to form a central axially-extending opening, and inlet cells, filtering portions and outlet cells in that sequence axially of the filter, the discs of a first group are disposed in predetermined sequence with the discs of a second different group, the discs of each group being of the same size and the discs of at least one of the groups being provided with flow control passages and openings. In Fig, 1 plain discs 1 alternate with discs 2 having quadrant openings 4, 6 communicating alternately with inside and outside. Alternate discs 2 are angularly displaced 90 degrees. Four consecutive discs form a repetitive unit. Discs 11, 12, Fig. 2, and 21, 22, Fig. 3, are assembled to form repetitive units in the manner shown. Flow lines are shown in Figs. 1 and 2.</p> |
