NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I (R and R' are H or protecting group). USE:A selective insecticide useful especially against aphid having resistance to organic phosphorous insecticide. PREPARATION:L-Homocysteinethiolactone shown by formula II is subjected to N-protection by a conventional procedure and then hydrolyzed with an alkali to give an alkali metallic salt shown by formula III (M is alkali metal). Then the alkali metallic salt is reacted with chlorodifluoromethane in the presence of a base and further optionally deprotected to give a compound shown by formula I.
