The invention relates to a device for enabling an item of furniture to revolve. It is characterised in that the rolling members are wheels as follows: - wheels 15 that are carried by either the stationary plate or the turntable and are distributed in at least one circle and travel around at least one principal circular track 18 situated on the other part and greater in diameter than a circle having the axis of the pivot as its centre and inscribable within a surface area at least equal to the mutually confronting surface areas of the stationary plate and of the turntable, - at least one other wheel 16 carried by the same part which travels around a secondary circular track 19 having the axis of the pivot as its centre and entirely inscribed on the surface area of the other part, and - at least two other wheels carried by the part with the principal track and travelling around an associated track 20 having the axis of the pivot as its centre and entirely inscribed within the surface area of the first part.
