The subject of the invention is 2-benzoylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives corresponding to the following general formula I: <IMAGE> in which - X1, X2 and X3 are -H, a halogen, -NR6R7, -NO2, -CO2H or - CO2R8, -C IDENTICAL N, a C1-C5 alkyl radical, a C1-C5 alkoxy radical, a C1-C5 alkylthio radical, -CF3, -OH, -CH2OH, <IMAGE>, <IMAGE>, -CH2-NR6R7 or <IMAGE>; - R1 to R5 are -H, a halogen, -NO2, -NO, a C1-C5 alkyl radical, a C1-C5 alkoxy radical, a C1-C5 alkylthio radical, -NR6R7, -CF3, a C1-C5 alkenyl radical, -C IDENTICAL N, -CO2H or -CO2R8, <IMAGE>, <IMAGE>; - R2 and R3 can be connected and represent a linear C1-C5 alkylene radical; - R6 and R7 are a) -H; b) a C1-C5 alkyl radical, optionally substituted by one or a number of halogens, -OH, an amine radical carrying one or two C1-C4 alkyl substituents, or a C3-C6 cycloalkyl radical; c) a phenyl radical; - R8 represents either a C1-C5 alkyl radical, optionally substituted by one or a number of halogens, -OH, or an amine radical carrying two C1-C4 alkyl substituents; and their addition salts with inorganic or organic acids. The invention also relates to their application as medicaments and to the pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
