PURPOSE:To form coatings continuously on a plurality of drum-like substrates by holding each of a first and a second drum-like substrates specifically, moving them relatively against a coating forming means, and forming coatings on the first substrate and the second substrate consecutively. CONSTITUTION:A spacer 26C is held by a spacer holder 28A and elevated and the outer surface of a drum 27 is coated with a coating solution from a coating means 31. In that time, accompanying with rising of a band 25 for drum discharge, a drum 27A which is already coated is discharged to outside of the system. During this process, a holder 28B descends to hold a spacer 26D and a band 33 for drum supply also descends to inset a drum 27E with a spacer 26. Meanwhile, a holder 28A is lowered at the time when coating of the drum 27B is finished, and at the finishing time of the drum 27C coating, the upper end of the drum D is brought into a contact with the lower end of the spacer 26C. Spacer holder 28A, 28B are thus moved up and down reciprocally and each drum is coated with a coating solution consecutively. |
