During the fabrication of components containing a superconductor and a semiconductor, chemical reactions between the superconductor and the semiconductor occur which may considerably impair the functionality of the end product. Such chemical reactions are avoided by the superconductor (2), after completion of all the necessary thermal treatments, being coated in its entirety or in part with a passivation layer (3). For the purpose of any electrical connections required, said passivation layer (3) is partially removed or reduced (5', 5''), after which the semiconductor (4) is deposited on this substrate thus prepared at temperatures which do not harm the superconductor. <IMAGE>
