PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability in preserving and lifetime characteristics and enhance the volume efficiency by giving the bunch a greater thickness than a framing, and keeping the bunch pressure always by an armor case. CONSTITUTION:The bunch of electrode plates is given a greater thickness than a framing, and the bunch pressure is maintained always by an armor case which accommodates a sealed type lead acid battery. That is, shortage of the bunch pressure worsens close contact of electrode plate with separator to result in greater current density at the time of charging, so that the charging voltage is raised to give an apparently charged condition even though active substance is not charged completely, resulting in cycles of insufficient charging to cause premature deterioration in the capacity. Thus a sealed type lead acid battery is accomplished, which has long life, high reliability, high volume efficiency, and high output density. |
