The invention relates to a rotating drum having a lining which prevents the caking-on of materials which are processed in the rotating drum. Hitherto, either operations were performed without linings and the cleaning was carried out by scrapers, or linings having longitudinally arranged elastic webs and those having additional overlapping webs were used for self-cleaning. According to the invention, the elastic webs are cut into parallelograms and inserted into the interior of the rotating drum in such a way that an angle is formed between the horizontal and the course of the mutually abutting, spirally arranged webs, which angle is between 15@ and 75@, preferably 45@.
