PURPOSE: To prevent damage by providing a connector provided with an energy absorbing spring means for releasing a closing member from an electric mechanism when overload is generated in the closing stroke, in a device for closing a trunk closing member by the electric mechanism. CONSTITUTION: A trunk closing member 12 pivotally movably attached to a vehicle body by a pair of hinges is energized in the opening direction by a spring means and pulled in the closing position by an electric unit 34 including a cable drum 40 to be rotated by a motor 38, and a latch assembly 22 is locked in relation to a striker 28 in the closing position. In this case, a connector 50 capable of being released is provided to connect a cable 42 to a hinge arm 15 of the hinge 14. In this connector 50, a sliding means 16 having a hole 68 for holding a head part 58 of a headed pin 56 provided on a hinge arm 15 is fitted and mounted in a housing 62, the sliding means 76 is downward moved against a spring 86 when force is applied, and the pin 56 is released. |
