A pick-up system for use in connection with the bridge 2 of a stringed instrument consists of individual cylindrical shaped microphone units 6 which are inserted in drilled close-tolerance holes 7 in the bridge close to the individual strings 34 so that the microphones are held there by friction but can be rotated.
