A jet regulator for a sanitary outflow fitting exhibits, in the throughflow direction, a front-attachment screen (6), a jet-dividing device (7) and, downstream, regulating screens (8). The combination of the installation parts used in each case achieves, with comparatively low outlay, a particularly good result in terms of jet dividing, protection against calcification and noise development. Provided for this purpose are at least two regulating screens (8), of which at least the outlet-side regulating screen is designed, with comparatively coarse meshes, with an internal mesh width of at least 0.8 mm. In order that said regulating screens are sufficient for subsequent regulation, particularly intensive jet dividing takes place in the case of the jet-dividing device (7), as a result of the special design thereof. Even the somewhat more finely meshed front-attachment screen (6) effects a steadying of the flow, and natural vibrations are also avoided by the support of said screen. This design in the case of the front-attachment screen (6) and the oblique deflecting surface (12) present in the case of the jet-dividing device (7) achieve a low degree of noise development. <IMAGE>
