In a cushion support for a motor vehicle seat with at least one cushion layer and a laminated-on nettle-cloth base as well as, projecting away therefrom, a fastening for fixing the cushion support on a basic cushion body, the uppermost cushion layer being provided on the user side with a covering, it is proposed, to achieve a marked pipe character, with as much freedom as possible with regard to coverings to be used, to make the first cushion layer provided with the nettle-cloth base from a relatively hard foam, this layer being provided with grooves at the spacing of the pipe width. The grooves are covered by a second cushion layer consisting of soft foam and a third cushion layer designed as a fleece, in each case with oversize. A cover consisting of an elastic warp-knitted material follows on the third cushion layer, which cover, during the sewing process which takes place on the edge side and in the groove bottom of the grooves of the first cushion layer, binds in the cushion layers loosely, forming markedly stepped seam paths for the cover still to be put on.
