Flap-controlled air feed to the installation space of a furnace

A fireplace is represented in an installation space which obtains air from the outside through a wall. In order to prevent cooling of the installation space during breaks in operation of the fireplace, a flap device 14 is provided on the vent orifice. The flap device 14 is composed of a support subassembly 16 and a function subassembly 28. The support subassembly 16 can be premounted. The function subassembly 14 is mounted subsequently on the support subassembly. In this manner the risk of damage to the function subassembly 28 on installation is minimised. Moreover the function subassembly 28 can be combined with various support subassemblies 16 in order to take into account the installation conditions (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
