<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the size of a mouse pad by setting the mouse shift speed in proportion to a low speed of a cursor when the mouse shift speed exceeds a set low speed and keeping a high cursor shift speed even in case the mouse shift speed is reduced suddenly after it exceeds a set high speed. CONSTITUTION:When a mouse 5 moves, a ball 11 revolves to output pulses through X and Y axis pulse generators 13 and 12. These pulses are counted by X and Y axis counters 15 and 14 respectively. A timer 16 applies interruptions to a controller 2 via an interface circuit 17 for each fixed period of time and sends the contents of each counter to the controller 2. The controller 2 sets the cursor shift speed in proportion to the mouse shift speed when this speed exceeds a set level XB. Thus the cursor shift speed is held at a high level even in case the mouse shift speed exceeds a set level XA and reduced suddenly. When the mouse shift speed exceeds the level XB from a stationary or quasi-stationary state, a high-speed shift mode of the cursor is released.</p> |
