PURPOSE: To increase operational flexibility and to reduce cost by dipping a storage pressure vessel in a pool including a neutron absorption liquid under atmospheric pressure, insulating heat of the reactor vessel, and preventing the heat insulation of the storage pressure vessel. CONSTITUTION: A reactor vessel 2 is housed inside a storage pressure vessel 1 and a reactor core part 4, a lower input header 5, and an upper output header 6 are provided inside the container 2. A ring-shaped region formed by a cup- shaped structure 7 provided at a ceiling 8 of the vessel 2 is divided into two concentric cavities 9 and 10. A circulation pump 11 is provided at the upper edge part of the cavity 10 and a primary heat exchanger 3 is arranged inside. A secondary fluid is supplied into an exchanger 3 through an insulation pipe 12 that passes through both the vessel 2 and the vessel 1. Heat-insulating coatings 13 and 14 are executed to the outer wall of the vessel 2. A tank 15 is formed between the vessels 1 and 2 and is filled with a neutron absorption liquid, for example borax solution. The vessel 2 is coated by the coatings 13 and 14 so that the temperature of the tank 15 is lower than that of the vessel 2 and the vessel 1 is dipped into a coolant.
