Device for producing subatmospheric pressure on a circular base disc movable in an upward-leading pipe, in order to lift said disc (more) easily together with the pipe water situated thereabove in the pipe. The circular baseplate or disc is rapidly rotated, and fits properly with its edge in the pipe, so that no friction arises. Located above it is an arrangement of inclined blades radiating from the centre axis, for preventing inert co-rotation of the water medium, it also being possible to use longitudinal sheets additionally or instead to fulfil this purpose. The disc can also be initially rotated on a non-rotated base disc at a minimum distance from it, which is the same as the above embodiment, since, below it and on the base, suctions likewise result which cancel each other out, and only above the disc does there result a suction which has not been cancelled out, in comparison with the underside of the base disc. Water can be conveyed with this device. This pump requires less energy than if, for example, an agitator is used to rotate the water above a fixed disc, and also less energy than other previous pumps, for example centrifugal pressure pumps, etc.
