The combined machine tool is designed for small-scale enterprises and do-it-yourself enthusiasts. It has a horizontal work spindle for turning operations and a vertical work spindle for drilling/milling operations. It has a robust and therefore vibration-free machine frame, consisting of the machine bed of the lathe, the headstock, a column which is an extension of the headstock to the top, and an arm which adjoins the column at right angles and has the drilling/milling head mounted on it at its free end. This frame construction is a cost-effective variation of the known C-frame for production machines in industry, which is known to be especially robust and free of vibration and distortion. Precision drilling and milling work can thereby be carried out. Known combined machine tools, due to the system, do not permit precision drilling/milling work.
