PURPOSE:To obtain an information recording medium exhibiting excellent oxidation resistance even in high temperature and high moisture environment and having a recording film of long lifetime and high sensitivity by providing a substrate, and the recording film formed on the substrate to be of amorphous state including specific ratio of Ag-Te alloy, and carbon and hydrogen to be recorded with information by the irradiation with a laser light. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 13 which is made of a transparent material for a laser light radiating an information recording medium for recording and reproducing information is employed. For example, polycarbonate, polymethylmethacrylate, etc., is employed. A recording film 14 is made by incorporating carbon and hydrogen in Ag-Te alloy in such a manner that the content of the Ag is 2-55at%. In a sputtering device for forming the film, the Ag-Te alloy is applied to an AgTe target, sputter discharged, and the film 14 containing AgTe alloy, and carbon and hydrogen is laminated on the substrate 13. The obtained film 14 is of an amorphous film, having no crystal grain boundary, thereby generating no grain boundary noise. |
