PURPOSE:To prevent whitening of a coating liquid at the time of production of the photosensitive body and the generation of solvent cracks and to maintain excellent mechanical strength and electrophotographic characteristics by using a polyformal resin consisting of a specific repeating unit as a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer having a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer is provided on a conductive base body and the polyformal resin consisting of at least the repeating unit expressed by the formula I is used as the binder resin in this photosensitive layer, more preferably in the charge transfer layer in the photosensitive layer. In the formula I, R<1>, R<2> denote an alkyl group, cycloalkyl group, etc.; m, n denote integers; X denotes -O-, -S-, etc. The whitening of the coating liquid at the time of the production of the photosensitive body, the generation of the solvent cracks, etc., are obviated in this way and the excellent mechanical strength and the electrophotographic characteristics are maintained over a long period of time. |
