PURPOSE:To prescribe accurately projected length and to improve its dimensional accuracy by a method in which while the projected length fastening the end of a hose is prescribed on at least one end of a mandrel, a shape-retaining forming tool prescribing the outer shape of protector end is fitted thereto, and vulcanization is achieved. CONSTITUTION:A tubular hose composed of unvulcanized rubber is fitted onto the mandrel 1 which is provided with a prescribed bent shape and to which a shape- retaining forming tool 10 is fitted at its tip from its distal end. Next, the tubular protector 3 made of unvulcanized rubber is fitted thereonto from the distal end of the hose 2. Successively, a shape-retaining forming tool 20 is fitted to the distal end of the mandrel 1, and its locking mechanism 23 is engaged with the annular groove 1a of the mandrel 1. Next, in the fitted state of the mandrel 1, the hose 2 and the protector 3 in unvulcanized state to which shape-retaining forming tools 10, 20 are respectively fitted on both ends, are introduced in a vulcanizing device and are vulcanized. After the finish of vulcanization, the lock by the locking mechanism 23 is released, and the shape retaining forming tool 20 is removed and then the mandrel 1 is drawn out from the hose 2, whereby the hose with the protector having a prescribed bent shape is completed. |
