PURPOSE:To obtain the title foam outstanding in flame retardancy, small in pore size and high in thermal insulation by using as stabilizer triphenyl phosphite. CONSTITUTION:A styrene resin is incorporated with (A) as foaming agent, 5-20wt.%, based on the resin, of a mixture of 0.2-1.6mol of tetrafluoroethane and 0.2-2.0mol of a halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon, (B) as flame retardant, 0.5-10wt.% of a mixture of hexabromocyclododecane and 2,2'-bis-(4-allyloxy-3,5- dibromophenyl)-propane and/or 2,4,6-tribromophenyl allyl ether, and (C) as stabilizer, 1.0-30wt.%, based on the flame retardant, of triphenyl phosphite, thus obtaining the objective foam. The above stabilizer is capable of making the pores in the final foam finer as well as stabilizing both of the foaming agent for flame retardant, leading to said foam of improved flame retardancy and thermal isolation. |
