PURPOSE:To construct an expanded tunnel having an arbitrary sectional shape by installing an external cylinder shield and an internal cylinder shield, arranging a cutting robot between both shields and rotating, the cutting robot while rocking a robot arm. CONSTITUTION:An external cylinder shield 2 conformed to the sectional shape of an expanded tunnel Tb and an internal cylinder shield 3 circumscribed with an existing primary segment Sa are mounted. A cutting robot 4 is disposed in front of a section between both shields 2, 3, and rotated along the periphery of the internal cylinder shield 3. When the cutting robot 4 is rotated, a robot arm 14 set up to the robot 4 is rocked in the sectional direction of tunnels Ta, Tb and a working face is excavated by a cutter 15 fitted at the nose of the robot arm 14. The angle of rocking is changed in response to the alteration of the width of a clearance between both shields 2, 3, and the whole surface of the working face is excavated without the clearance while tracing the section between both shields 2, 3. |
